PA's New Hope is a Hidden Treasure
As we continue searching for road trip weekend getaways, we decided to go back and visit one of our favorites, New Hope, Pennsylvania. New Hope is well known for being LGBTQ friendly plus filled with artisanal shops and delicious restaurants.
My desire to return was peaked by reading an article about a new and interesting hotel that opened within walking distance to town.
The River House at Odette’s is a new luxury lifestyle hotel in New Hope. The hotel features an edgy, yet elegant design, inspired by the hotel’s previous life as actress and musician Odette Myrtil Logan’s boisterous cabaret, Chez Odette. For over two decades, Chez Odette was the social hub of New Hope’s lively artistic community, attracting celebrities and locals alike from nearby Philadelphia and New York. River House at Odette’s weaves historic elements from Chez Odette’s colorful past into the contemporary architecture and design of the hotel. The boutique hotel features 36 guestrooms and suites offering classic elegance coupled with luxurious, contemporary flair.
One of my favorite elements of the hotel was the rooftop space where you could enjoy cocktails or dinner while enjoying the beauty of the river. At their main restaurant, we loved the live violin music from their talented house violinist, Gina Corso. There is a gorgeous grand piano waiting for live music to come back into our lives post-pandemic.
Our days were spent doing long walks on the main street enjoying views of the river and of course some shopping. The evenings were spent having long dinners at wonderful restaurants with friends.
The hotel and all of the restaurants listed here were taking all Covid safety protocols necessary.
