Falling In Love with London…All Over Again
London is just one of those places that the more you explore, the more you fall in love. Having just been there in October, it was such a treat to head back and experience more of this magical city.
Our trip began with checking into one of my favorite hotels in London, The London Edition. From its stunning lobby alive with excitement to its perfectly appointed rooms, this SOHO hotel has stolen my heart. Imaginative cocktails at Berners Tavern, exceptional concierge and reception service, delicious food and exploratory punch concoctions in the exclusive Punch Room, all make this hotel extraordinarily unique. Having just watched a documentary on the designer of the hotel, Ian Schrager, it made me appreciate that sleek, yet comfortable design that are his signature touch. In addition to enjoying the hotel, we saw two West End productions, one night of live music at Pizza Express and my wife, Anne Steele, performed at one of my favorite music venues, Crazy Coqs at Live at Zedel. I highly recommend each of these for not only the music but for the delicious and affordable food.
I did a bit of research and took the recommendations of friends for some new restaurant options. We went from Taiwanese buns at Baos, to Greek at The Real Greek to Mexican food at the underground La Bodega Negra to Israeli food at The Palomar to the traditional Fish and Chips at Gigs Fish and Chips. We found affordable and delicious options all week.
Our last stop of the week was Camden Market. Camden Market is a diverse community of creative sellers, street food traders and independent stores next to Regent’s Canal. It is an amazing place to shop, eat, drink and dance in an historic Central London location. I felt like there was not nearly enough time to enjoy all there was to offer.
