Your LGBT adventure begins in Amsterdam, with its legendary canals and distinctive architecture, then travel on the Rhine to Cologne, a historic university town with a vibrant gay scene. Cruise through the beautiful Rhine Gorge, take in the picturesque landscape of vineyard-clad hillsides with stops in Rudesheim, Miltenberg, Wurzburg, and Bamberg before joining the Main River. Marvel at the Main-Danube Canal - an engineering masterpiece - as you traverse Europe's Continental Divide before ending the cruise in Nuremberg. From here you will transfer to historic Prague for 2 post nights in one of Europe's most attractive cities. Day 1: Monday, August 11, 2014 - Arrive in Amsterdam - EMBARKATION
Arrive in charming Amsterdam and embark upon your luxurious river cruise ship. Meet your fellow travelers tonight at the Welcome Cocktail Reception and Dinner. (D)
Day 2: Tuesday, August 12 - Amsterdam-Nijmegen
Early morning departure of Amsterdam for the lively Dutch city of Nijmegen, considered the Netherlands oldest city. Enjoy a guided tour followed by free time to expolore this charming place at your own pace. (B,L,D)
Day 3: Wednesday, August 13 - Cologne
Arrive in Cologne this morning, where you will have a walking tour of Old Town and Cathedral Square and visit the spectacular 13th-century gothic cathedral - its twin spires are among the tallest in Europe. Afterwards, you'll have free time to visit some of the local shops or have a coffee at a quaint cafe. Or, if you prefer, enjoy a glass of Koelsch, Cologne's famous smoked beer. Late tonight, the ship cruises to Rudesheim overnight. (B,L,D)
Day 4: Thursday, August 14 - Rudesheim
This morning, cruise through the picturesque Rhine Gorge, with its castles, fortress ruins, and the legendary Lorelei Rock. Arrive in Rudesheim, where you will enjoy an afternoon wine tasting with a local vintner. You'll have free time to explore the Drosselgasse, a narrow alley lined with wine taverns and restaurants. This evening, visit Siegfried's Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum, home to a remarkable collection of centuries-old robotic and self-playing musical instruments. As an alternative, sample a glass of Ruedesheimer coffee - a local favorite - at a friendly cafe. The ship sails overnight. (B,L,D
Day 5: Friday, August 15 - Miltenberg - Wertheim
Arrive in Miltenberg for a walking tour of this delightful old Franconian town with its narrow cobblestone streets and gabled, half-timbered houses. During lunch, the ship will cruise to Freudenberg. A motor coach tour will take you to Wertheim, where you will see the historic city center followed by free time to explore the town on your own. (B,L,D)
Day 6: Saturday, August 16 - Wurzburg
This morning, take a guided tour of Wurzburg showing you all of the major sights or visit the Residenz Palace and gardens, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Europe's best examples of Baroque architecture. This afternoon, take an optional excursion to medieval Rothenburg for a walking tour and free time to explore on your own. Later this afternoon, the ship sails to Bamberg. (B,L,D)
Day 7: Sunday, August 17 - Bamberg
The twin cities of Tournon and Tain l'Hermitage lie nestled among vineyards between the Rhône River and the granite slopes of the Hermitage. Tournon, with its imposing 16th-century castle and Roman ruins, is one of France's oldest medieval cities. Another charming town, Viviers, was developed around its Romanesque Cathedral, and the Old Town has an appealing mix of Christian, Roman, and medieval influences. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 8: Monday, August 18 - Nurnberg(Disembarkation) - Prague
Disembark after breakfast for your transfer to Prague. After your sightseeing tour, you'll see why Prague is considered one of Europe's most attractive cities. Visit the 1,000 year-old Prague Castle and St. Vitus before crossing the famous Charles Bridge to the Old Market Square. (B)
